Job Overview:
GrowBeyond Tech is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare KPO team. This full-time role focuses on surgical coding and billing operations for a multi-specialty ASC. The position requires expertise in managing claims, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with US-based healthcare providers and insurance companies to ensure accurate billing and prompt reimbursements.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with HST EMR and a deep understanding of medical billing, surgical coding, and US healthcare processes. You will work US-aligned hours to facilitate seamless collaboration with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Billing and Claims Processing:
- Review patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Submit claims to insurance companies with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurance as required.
- Claims Follow-Up and Dispute Resolution:
- Follow up on unpaid and disputed claims to ensure resolution.
- Communicate with insurance companies to address discrepancies and ensure compliance with payment terms.
- Payment Verification and Adjustments:
- Check insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts.
- Correct and resubmit claims to third-party payers when necessary.
- Patient Interaction and Support:
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding account status, charges, and billing issues.
- Process patient statements and address related concerns.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality in adherence to HIPAA standards.
- Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and third-party payer procedures.
- Administrative Support:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure complete and accurate dictations.
- Liaise between providers, patients, and insurance companies for streamlined operations.
- System Expertise:
- Utilize HST EMR for billing tasks and maintain proficiency in other related systems.
Key Tasks:
- Perform various collection actions, including contacting patients by phone.
- Monitor accounts for patient and insurance follow-ups.
- Stay informed on the latest billing guidelines and payer-specific requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS-P) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in medical billing, particularly in surgical coding and billing.
