Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Biller to oversee and manage the billing operations for a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in surgical coding and billing, with strong proficiency in HST and ECW EMR systems. This role requires working hours aligned with U.S. business hours to ensure seamless collaboration with insurance companies and healthcare providers.

As a Senior Medical Biller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medical billing processes, resolving complex billing issues, and optimizing reimbursement procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Revenue Cycle Management:

• Review, verify, and process medical billing claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with insurance policies.
• Ensure timely and accurate claim submissions to insurance providers, minimizing claim denials.
• Oversee surgical coding and billing for multi-specialty procedures.
• Identify and process secondary and tertiary insurance claims as required.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with contracted reimbursement rates and payer agreements.

Claims Follow-up & Reconciliation:

• Perform comprehensive follow-ups on denied, unpaid, or disputed claims to ensure prompt resolutions.
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies.
• Work closely with healthcare providers and administrative staff to resolve outstanding billing issues.

Patient & Provider Communication:

• Address billing inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
• Process patient statements, resolve billing concerns, and ensure a smooth patient experience.
• Oversee collection actions, including contacting patients regarding outstanding balances and resubmitting claims.

Compliance & Industry Regulations:

• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
• Stay updated on insurance regulations, billing policies, and payer guidelines.
• Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

• Provide training and mentorship to junior medical billers.
• Assist in optimizing billing workflows and revenue cycle management for increased efficiency.
• Implement best practices to reduce claim rejections and improve reimbursement turnaround time.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management, specifically in surgical coding and billing.
• Certifications: CPC (Certified Professional Coder) preferred.
• Software Expertise: Proficiency in ECW (eClinicalWorks) and HST EMR systems is mandatory.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), insurance claims, and reimbursement processes.
• Leadership: Experience in mentoring and leading a team of medical billers.
• Work Hours: Ability to work in U.S. business hours to ensure real-time collaboration with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
